Our Approach to Counselling

At Peloquin Parle, we offer compassionate, person-centered counselling designed to meet you exactly where you are. We believe true healing happens when you feel safe, respected, and completely free from judgment. Here, you set the pace. By combining proven, evidence-based practices with a deep focus on you—rather than just your symptoms—we help you build real-world strategies for lasting, meaningful change.

We work with children, teens, adults, and families navigating a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, addictions, emotional regulation, family conflict, and life transitions.

Meet the Counsellors

Julie Wellsch - BSW, RSW

Areas of Practice : anxiety and stress, depression and burnout, trauma, grief and loss, addiction and co-dependence, neurodiversity, family and relationships.

Works with: Adults

I have lived in the Swift Current area for the past 33 years. I am from a farming background and was privileged to raise my family on a farm. I have been a registered social worker for 15 years. Most recently, I completed my master’s degree in social work from the University of Regina.

I am naturally drawn towards working with people and am passionate about mental and emotional health. My 12 years of experience in a social work health care setting has sharpened my assessment skills, taught me to think and problem solve outside of the box and reinforced my interpersonal skills. My last 3 years of practice have been dedicated to mental health counselling. My lived experiences of farming, parenting and managing a career has enriched my understanding and ability to support clients.

I continue to grow my counselling knowledge base to serve adults of all ages in a variety of areas. I use a holistic approach to counselling and strive to provide a safe and trusting environment to build a therapeutic relationship based on mutual respect and a genuine connection.

A Note From Julie

Owner/Operator

What’s in the name?

The name Peloquin Parle is a tribute to my parents. Peloquin is my father’s family name. Parle is the French word for talk. A nod to my family’s heritage.

My father was a fearless entrepreneur and instilled in me the value of hard work and determination. Parle (or talk) was my mother’s greatest gift. From her I received my compassion and ability to provide comfort and kindness to others.

And we like pirates.

Works with: Children ages 5+, Youth, and Adults

With over 15 years of experience supporting children, youth, adults, and families, I bring a compassionate, practical, and client-centered approach to counselling. I hold a Bachelor of Social Work and a Bachelor of Education, both from the University of Regina. I have worked extensively in addictions, mental health, youth services, education, and community support roles across Southwest Saskatchewan.

I am committed to ongoing learning and maintaining high professional standards through continued education. Above all, I strive to create a welcoming, respectful, and non-judgmental space where people can feel comfortable being themselves, explore challenges openly, and build confidence in moving forward.
